The on/off switch is covered with clear plastic and "on" and "off" are clearly marked. The power stake also has a circuit breaker. There are six covered outlets, three on each side. I was able to use all six outlets without any problems. This power stake is a must-have for those times when the number of electronics outnumbers the number of outlets. It also offers a simple solution to holiday lighting problems. There are many more situations that would be well-suited for this power stake, even though I only mentioned a few. I would definitely recommend this without any hesitation.
